POSITION TITLE : Senior Science Research Specialist (Sr. SRS)
SALARY GRADE :

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering
Experience : Two (2) years of experience in Wireless Communications Engineering
Training : 8 hours technical training on Wireless Communications
Eligibility : Board Licensure Certification and/ or Training Certification on Wireless Communication Engineering
Other Requirements :
  • Knowledgeable in Wireless Communication Technologies (WiFi, LTE/5G, etc.)
  • Good understanding of the OSI Layers for Wireless Communications
  • Good knowledge and experience using electronic and wireless communication test and measurement tools
  • Experience in PCB prototyping and hardware programming
  • Team player, a lifelong learner, and shows great initiative
  • Problem solving mindset and can work under minimal supervision
  • Can do other tasks (writing research papers, technical documentations, specifying items to procure)
  • Great advantage for good experience in implementing wireless systems involving any of the following technologies (IEEE 802.11 (WiFi), LTE/5G Cellular)
  • Heavy advantage for experience in vehicular wireless communications involving LTE/5G, IEEE 802.11
  • Heavy advantage for knowledge in technical details of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Technology
Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision and direction, HE/SHE shall perform the following:

  • Lead the evaluation and characterization of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) devices based on IEEE 802.11p (DSRC) and 3GPP release 14/15 (C-V2X)
  • Program and operate COTS V2X Devices for communication of traffic safety information
  • Design and implement an evaluation and characterization plan for KPIs such as coverage, latency, throughput and reliability
  • Design and/or integrate circuits/modules for RF wave shaping for wireless communications
  • Explore other wireless technologies to augment safety information communication via LoRa, WiFi, and LTE/5G Cellular
  • Largely contribute to the writing of technical documentation and technical papers for publishing
  • Be available to do other relevant tasks as the Project Leader or Team Leader may deem necessary
