POSITION TITLE : Science Research Specialist II
SALARY GRADE : SG-16

LOCATION : Solutions and Services Engineering Division
JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Bachelor's/College Degree preferably in Physics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology or with relevant background in the subject matter
Experience : 1-2 years of relevant experience
Training : Four (4) hours of relevant training

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision and direction, HE/SHE shall perform the following:

  • Contribute to the local development of lightning and weather sensors through development of algorithms for forecasting
  • Conduct site surveys and noise tests for the preparation on the installation of weather stations
  • Document accordingly the results of the surveys conducted
  • Deploy, install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain 50 lightning sensors in Metro Manila and 10 nationwide
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders, conduct noise test for the deployment of the stations
  • Document all technical R&D developments both hardware and software requirements for the development of the instrumentation
  • Attend and present at scheduled meetings regarding technical updates regarding the project
  • Attend regular project meetings as scheduled by the Project Administrator or Project Support Administration regarding the project status, coordination meeting etc.
  • Present when necessary technical updates regarding the project to Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meetings, stakeholder meetings etc.
