Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering / Computer Engineering / Applied Physics / Electrical Engineering
Experience : None required

Other Requirements :
  • Talent for building anything that is electrical and/or mechanical
  • Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded systems - Intermediate
  • Programming in Bare Metal C, C-based RTOS, and embedded Linux firmware - Beginner
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, Altium is an advantage - Beginner
  • Knowledgeable with various wired and wireless protocols and communication interfaces – Beginner
  • Written and oral communication skills – Intermediate
  • Background in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning at the EDGE is a plus
Duties and Responsibilities:

The SSED needs an embedded engineer who will work under the Embedded Systems Group (ESG) to do R&D works. The work includes but is not limited to designing and developing electronic products and solutions in instrumentation, robotics, mechatronics, wired and wireless sensor networks, IoT, and AI/Machine Learning.

Under general supervision and direction, HE/SHE shall perform the following:ich are required by the facility.

  • Work with the ESG team to define the hardware architectures, subsystems, and roadmap;
  • Design well-crafted, testable, and maintainable circuit schematics, and PCB layouts;
  • Research on suitable electronic components, generate BOM(bill-of-materials) and draft purchase requests;
  • Participate in the assembly, integration, and testing activities;
  • Assist in the PA/QA of the prototypes, including pre-production and select production units;
  • Assist in drafting technical papers for submission and publication to scientific journals or conferences;
  • Attend seminars, symposia, and other structured gatherings related to advanced S&T and other areas of concern related to development;
  • Participate in design reviews, document solutions effectively;
  • Work with the internal and external partners and stakeholders to define project requirements
  • Gather data through library research, fieldwork, interviews, and observation; and
  • Performs related duties of a regular or a unique nature as assigned.
