PRIVACY NOTICE
The DOST-ASTI is committed to fulfilling its mandate of providing information and communications technology and electronics technology solutions through research and development, technology transfer, and science and technology services while implementing safeguards to protect your personal data privacy, in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Processing of Personal Data
The personal data we collect from you, which may include your name, e-mail address, contact numbers, home, and office address, government-issued numbers, etc., may be used for the following purposes, depending on your specific transaction with the DOST-ASTI: (1) processing of job applications, records management, compensation, and benefits administration, signing of Daily Time Record and other documents, training, performance management, disciplinary action, and separation; (2) registration, account creation for systems managed by DOST-ASTI, grant of access to services, analysis of customer feedback, generation of statistical reports; (3) screening, selection, and monitoring of service providers and supplier of goods, completion of legal documents and due diligence process, implementation and enforcement of terms and conditions of contracts; (4) and other actions, programs, and undertakings that are authorized by the DOST-ASTI management.
The personal data collected from you may only be divulged to a third party outside the DOST-ASTI system if the process is necessary for the completion of your request, or if the disclosure of which is required through a subpoena issued by the courts or quasi-judicial bodies. Such information may also be used for statistical purposes and reporting of the organization. If you are an applicant or an employee of the DOST-ASTI, we may share your information to other government agencies like the Government Service Insurance System, Social Security System, PhilHealth, PagIBIG, and Civil Service Commission. On the other hand, personal data collected for procurement processes are disclosed to the Commission on Audit, and details such as names, addresses, and TIN of bidders and suppliers are reflected in documents such as Notices of Award, Purchase Orders, and Notices to Proceed. These procurement-related documents are being posted on the organization’s website for transparency purposes.
Data Protection
We shall implement reasonable and appropriate organizational, physical, and technical security measures for the protection of the personal information that we collected.
Records containing personal data are securely kept in records room/s, office-issued computers, and filing cabinets to prevent loss, destruction, degradation, or unauthorized access. Only authorized personnel are given access to storage and data processing facilities, and all personnel involved in processing personal data shall treat them with strict confidentiality as they are required to sign non-disclosure agreements. In case of a breach, the DOST-ASTI shall notify you in accordance with the circulars released by the National Privacy Commission for personal data breach management.
The personal information collected is retained by the DOST-ASTI in physical and/or electronic storage facilities and later disposed of in a secured manner pursuant to the General Records Disposition Schedule (GRDS) and Agency Records Disposition Schedule (ARDS) approved by the National Archives of the Philippines.
Rights of the Data Subjects
As the Data Subject, you have the right to be informed of the personal information being collected, processed, and stored by the DOST-ASTI. It is also your right to access, object to processing, correct, and order erasure or blocking of the personal information you have provided.
