The Advanced Remote Data Acquisition unit (arQ) is a data logging solution that currently serves as the controller for the remote monitoring stations such as AWS, ARG, WLMS currently deployed nationwide.

About ASTI-ARQ

The Advanced Remote Data-Acquisition unit (arQ) is a low power device that can store, record, acquire, and process data gathered from various sensors, including but not limited to air pressure, air temperature, air humidity, wind speed and direction, rain amount, rain duration, rain intensity among others.  The device gathers data automatically without human intervention while data transmission is done through the use of GSM/GPRS and/or Satellite. With proper configuration, the said device can also be used in other applications depending on the type of sensor to be integrated. It can also be used to control other remote electronic devices or systems. The arQ is used for all derivative stations deployed by DOST-ASTI.

Its features include

  • GSM/GPRS based data transfer
  • Fully configurable to accept different sensor types
  • On-board volatile memory capable of storing approximately one (1) year amount of data
  • Lightweight and compact
  • USB connection for serial interface to PC
  • IP67 rated for outdoor use
  • Very low power consumption
  • Redundant power scheme, equipped with primary and secondary power system
  • Built-in two (2) independent high-capacity rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery
  • Optimized for external solar power supply, equipped with MPPT charge controller
  • Over-the-air programming capable for remote firmware upgrades
