The Department of Science and Technology - Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for outstanding use of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS) and Electronic Budget (eBudget) System.

The Hall of Fame induction follows the Institute’s receipt of the Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award for the third consecutive year. The recognition was conferred during the 17th Annual Convention and 2026 Membership Conference organized by Government Financial Management Innovators Circle (GFMIC), Inc. on 23 September 2026 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Representing DOST-ASTI was Director Franz A. de Leon, accompanied by FAD Chief Ms. May C. Cayaban and Accounting Head Ms. Gay Concepcion S. Bugagao.

During the recent cycle, transaction volume and managed funds increased significantly across the Institute. In step with this growth, DOST-ASTI further strengthened and deepened its use of the eNGAS and eBudget systems through proactive issue resolution and consistent timely submission of financial reports. Both platforms now serve as integral components of the Institute’s financial management operations, enabling stronger oversight, real-time monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making.

“With the volume and pace of our transactions, timeliness is everything. eNGAS and eBudget have helped our Accounting and Budget sections work with greater accuracy and efficiency, which has been essential in keeping ASTI’s reports and submissions on schedule despite the growing demands on our operations,” said Ms. May C. Cayaban, Chief Administrative Officer of DOST-ASTI.

DOST-ASTI has been using eNGAS and eBudget since 2007 and 2015, respectively. Developed by the Commission on Audit, these platforms are used by government agencies to promote and ensure accuracy, transparency, and accountability in financial management and operations.

The Hall of Fame induction marks a significant milestone in DOST-ASTI’s continued commitment to leveraging digital systems and recognizes the sustained efforts of the Institute in upholding transparency and efficiency in government financial management.
