Overview 

The DOST-Advanced Science and Technology Institute presents ASTIG 2025: Advancing Science, Technology, and Innovation with Government, a premier event that brings together innovators, industry leaders, and government partners in a collaborative space where communities and technologies converge. Building on the success of ASTICON 2025, ASTIG 2025 continues DOST-ASTI's mission to bridge science and industry through meaningful dialogue and co-creation. 

Co-located within the Philippines Manufacturing & Automation Expo (PMAX) and Electronics Manufacturing Expo (EMAX) 2025, ASTIG 2025 features a technology showcase, breakout sessions, and synthesis activities aimed at generating insights that will shape DOST-ASTI's technology adoption roadmap, partnership opportunities, and future R&D direction.

Jasmine Clare B. Padilla
(HR Lite)

Project Technical Assistant IV 

Jasmine Clare Padilla is a budding pitcher for HR Lite with 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Management Information System (MIS) Unit of DOST-ASTI. As a bridge for the tech and business side for projects HR Lite and HRIS, she helps with the development of automation to streamline HR processes.  

She's a graduate of BS in Computer Engineering at Adamson University. From her understanding of systems in line with her studies, she's able to convert client needs into visual solutions that the tech team could work on. 

 

 

 


Riza Mae B. Villanueva
(AKS/ON)

Project Administrative Assistant II 

With a background in Communication Arts and experience in project management, Riza Mae Villanueva bridges creativity and structure in her work at DOST-ASTI’s Knowledge Management Division. She thrives in turning ideas into well-coordinated initiatives that promote collaboration and innovation within the Institute. Known for her thoughtful approach and attention to detail, Riza brings both innovation and strategy to every project she handles — a mix that makes her work as engaging as it is effective. 

 

 

 


Elmer C. Peramo
(iTANONG)

Senior Science Research Specialist 

Elmer C. Peramo is a distinguished Senior Science Research Specialist at DOST-ASTI, leveraging over two decades of experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence applied across sectors including weather forecasting, agriculture, natural language processing, and healthcare. He has led and managed multidisciplinary teams in delivering cutting-edge AI projects that address both national needs and global challenges. 

He is currently the Program Leader of the Advancing Computing, Analytics, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in the Philippines (ACABAI-PH), a flagship ELEV8PH Big Ticket Program of DOST, and Project Leader of the DOST-Nexus for AI Research and Applications (DOST-NAIRA). In these pivotal roles, he spearheads initiatives set to significantly enhance the nation's AI capabilities.  

 


Erica G. Concepcion
(EPDC)

Project Administrative Assistant III 

Erica Concepcion holds a Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao. She began her career at the City Legal Office of LGU-Tuguegarao and studied law for two years at the University of Cagayan Valley - College of Law. In October 2022, she joined the DOST-ASTI Electronics Product Development Center as a Sales and Marketing Engineer and has since advanced to the role of Sales and Marketing Team Leader.   

 

 

 


John Chris T. Kwong
(REIINN)

S&T Fellow  

John Chris Kwong, an S&T Fellow at DOST-ASTI, drives national efforts to connect agencies through shared computing infrastructure and innovative wireless technologies in DOST projects such as GATES and REIINN. As the technical lead behind RuralCasting, he helped deliver digital educational resources to remote communities without relying on the Internet. He is also a Master of Science degree holder with numerous publications in IEEE conferences and other Scopus-indexed publications. Beyond research, he serves as a lecturer at the Ateneo de Manila University and a startup co-founder providing environmental monitoring solutions. 

 

 


Stephanie Anne A. Alves
(ROAMER)

Project Technical Specialist III 

Stephanie Alves is an engineer with experience in project management and technology transfer. She currently supports a robotics and AI research project at DOST-ASTI, helping align it with user needs and contributing to efforts to sustain and apply the technology in real-world settings. She is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from De La Salle University. 

 

 

 

 


Ramon Vann Cleff B. Raro
(STEER)

Senior Science Research Specialist 

Engr. Ramon Vann Cleff B. Raro, ECE is a Senior Science Research Specialist at DOST-ASTI, and the technical lead of projects related to Vehicle-to-Everything, Intelligent Transport and Traffic Control Systems, and Artificial Intelligence. He specializes in RF and Microwave Engineering, among other fields. He is also currently a part-time lecturer at the University of the Philippines Diliman Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute (UP EEEI), and currently a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering Candidate.
