The EPDC Webinar features its Services and Facilities during the National Science and Technology Week 2020
26 November 2020 – The DOST Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI), in collaboration with the Electronics Product Development Center (EPDC), held a virtual webinar that talks about Electronics Industries Association of the Philippines Inc. (EIAPI), the EPDC, and its services and facilities. The webinar showed how the EPDC, a one-stop shop, and state-of-the-art facility was designed to support, enable, and promote innovations and high value electronic product development.
The EPDC is one of Department of Science and Technology Institute (DOST)’s efforts to support the electronics industry, which is a project under DOST-ASTI and co-implemented by EIAPI. EPDC’s services and facilities includes the EPIIC Garage, Electronic Product Prototyping and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing, Product Safety Testing, Parametric Testing, as well as training and seminars for the electronics field.
Engr. Peter Antonio Banzon, Chief Science Research Specialists at DOST-ASTI, and Mr. Earl Qua, President of EIAPI gave a brief introduction on EPDC and EIAPI, respectively. This was followed by Engr. Victor Gruet, Operations Manager of EPDC who discussed in detail the services and facilities offered by the center to its customers.
“The EPDC is a shared services facility that provides design prototyping and testing services and equipment for fabricating printed circuit board designs, prototype products, and produced test reports needed for selling products for the local and global markets.” Engr. Gruet said. “The center houses hardware and software that are used by companies or organizations big or small local or foreign including students doing projects for research it is one of the best ways to prepare students in engineers for jobs and experience working in electronics projects and with the industry.” He added.
The Electronics Product Development Center virtual webinar is one of DOST-ASTI's multiple virtual events lined up in celebration of the 2020 National Science & Technology Week (NSTW).
