The Department of Science and Technology-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) and Housing Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) together with its cooperating Key Shelter Agencies (KSAs) namely National Housing Authority (NHA), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Home Guaranty Corporation (HGC), Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), and National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) gathered for a two (2) day End-User Training of Housing Beneficiaries Monitoring and Evaluation System (HBMES).
Constituted under the Executive Order No. 90, s. 1986, part of the mandates of HUDCC is to monitor, review, and evaluate the performance of its KSAs. The new HBMES database system will aid in the Council's objective to centralize the data of all KSAs and provide access across agencies, to use as a basis of determining the double-availment of the socialized housing loan.
DOST-ASTI's Computer Software Division (CSD) headed by Ms. Joanna G. Syjuco, hosted the event as the co-implementing group of HUDCC for this project last 26-27 February 2019. It was attended by the end users of HUDCC (mainly from their KSAs). The training aims to help them understand the overall system features, flow, and uses of the modules presented.

The training involved the end-users' hands-on demonstration experience of the HBMES system. During the 2nd day of the event, HUDCC and all the Key Shelter Agencies (KSAs) had the opportunity to rove through the DOST-ASTI Ground Receiving Station (GRS). They were also able to know more about the first-ever micro-satellite of the Philippines -- the Diwata-1 and Diwata-2-- which serve as a platform for access on earth surface data. It was part of the program to engage the participants of what DOST-ASTI has to offer.
