Fostering a Future of Innovation: DOST-ASTI and UP sign MOU
Quezon City, Ph - The DOST-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) and the University of the Philippines (UP) came together to formalize their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This agreement symbolizes a significant stride towards mutual cooperation, understanding, and the pursuit of excellence in the realms of emerging technology.
Together with the heads and faculty of the UP Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute, both institutions formalized their partnership to provide a comprehensive framework for various activities. Ranging from the exchange of academic information to collaborative research ventures and student internships, these activities are poised to shape and strengthen the decades-long collaboration between the institutions.
Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II formally started the ceremonial signing by giving his message. He expressed the University of the Philippines' unwavering commitment to opening its doors to new possibilities through continued collaboration with DOST-ASTI.
Dr. Maria Antonia N. Tanchuling, the Dean of the UP College of Engineering also gave her insightful remarks. She emphasized the ongoing commitment to fortify the collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.
Over the years, DOST-ASTI maintained a continuous partnership with the UP, providing steadfast coordination and mutual support within each other's mandates.
“We in DOST-ASTI, are very much excited to further expand our domain with UP so that we can extend our arms to welcome the bright minds of the future through student internships-- providing a platform for experiential learning and hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies, not only in the field of ICT and electronics, but with other emerging technologies as well, “ DOST-ASTI Director Franz A. De Leon said.
With the MOU, both institutions commit to fostering a relationship designed to evolve with the changing landscape of research and academia through technology demonstration and fora.
