DOST will hold the 6th Regional Stakeholder’s Event to encourage sustainable ICT innovation in Central Luzon

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will hold "The 6th Regional Stakeholders’ Event and Business-to-Business (B2B) Meeting" at the WIDUS Hotel Clark City in Pampanga on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The event will bring together key stakeholders from industry, government, and academia to build smart and resilient Filipino communities through sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) innovations.

Carrying the theme “Building Smart and Resilient Filipino Communities through Sustainable ICT Innovation,” the event will feature technology pitching sessions, business matching, and networking opportunities. The emerging technologies to be presented are products of Scientific outputs and Filipinnovation. It will focus on ICT solutions for smart cities and communities, disaster risk reduction and management, e-agriculture, education, and industry 4.0.

The technologies highlighted in this event provide science-based solutions that will enable a more efficient use of the infrastructure and resources in Region III.  We hope that this initiative will encourage collaborations with government agencies, private companies, academe, and other non-governmental institutions to work together in enhancing the quality of life of every Filipino,” said DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr.

Invited participants include local government units, private companies, non-government organizations, academic institutions, and potential investors. The event will highlight available technologies and services such as 1) Resilient Education Information Infrastructure for the New Normal and its derivatives Disaster Risk Reduction through Communication and Community Preparedness Systems (REINNDRROPS), and Cities Operating Advanced Technologies (REIINNCOAT), 2) Gul:ai, an innovative technology that encourages Filipino youth to study and conduct research using the fusion of information and communications technology (ICT) and agriculture, 3) HR Lite, eDecide, and A/SYON, technologies that assist and facilitate the ease of doing business in government operations, 4) CITISENSE, a Crowdsourced Information Tagging and Intelligence with Social and Environmental Notification System for Everyone,  5) VIROS-STEER, Vehicle to Everything for Road Safety system, 6) ROAMER, Robot for Optimized and Autonomous Mission-Enhancement Response, 7) HAWKS- Artificial Intelligence-enhanced aerial visualization technologies with decision support system integration for convenient and expedited crop monitoring and field visualization, and 8) Breakthrough ICT Solutions, a spin-off company that provides managed service specializing in digital transformation and smart cities for local government units.

This event is made possible through the collaboration of DOST-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) and the DOST Regional Office No. III, together with its Provincial Science and Technology Offices.

The DOST-ASTI aims to accelerate the transfer and commercialization of technologies to benefit the public through business partnerships and collaborations. These solutions were developed with stakeholders in mind, at the same time championing local researchers and scientists.” said Dr. Franz A. De Leon, Director of DOST-ASTI. “We look forward to enabling valuable connections between researchers, technology developers, investors, and end-users, especially the local government units at this event,” he added.

Sicat.

Similarly, DOST III pushes for the efforts to achieve “OneDOST” for a prosperous “One Central Luzon”.  Dr. Sicatshares “This forum will provide a platform for knowledge-sharing wherein new and emerging technologies and its applications in the local setting shall be presented by our experts for your use and application in local development initiatives.  This prospective healthy collaboration by the scientific community stakeholders with local leaders shall surely drive innovation and push for robust investment in a more technologically receptive Central Luzon.

The DOST-ASTI Technology Licensing Office facilitates the transfer through public good and commercialization of technologies developed by DOST-ASTI to benefit the public. The DOST Regional Office also complements Technology Transfer initiatives through its Smart and Sustainable Communities Program (SSC).
