Understanding Research Infrastructures
Research infrastructures are vital facilities that provide essential resources and services for research communities to conduct studies and drive innovation. These infrastructures include:
• Major Scientific Equipment: Advanced tools such as synchrotrons, telescopes, and particle accelerators.
• Collections and Archives: Libraries and repositories that preserve critical data and historical information.
• Data Repositories: Systems designed for the storage, management, and sharing of research data.
• Computing Systems: High-performance computing resources for complex analyses and simulations.
• Communication Networks: Infrastructure that facilitates collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers.
These facilities not only support researchers in their scientific pursuits but also enhance the sharing of knowledge, fostering innovation across disciplines.
ASEAN Regional Research Infrastructure (RRI) Strategy
The ASEAN Regional Research Infrastructure (RRI) Strategy is a collaborative initiative involving all ten ASEAN Member States. Its primary aim is to strengthen research capabilities and promote cooperation across the region, ensuring that researchers have access to the necessary tools and resources to excel in their fields.
