DOST-ASTI is prepped to NSTW 2022

The DOST Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) is set to highlight two (2) of its technologies on the upcoming National Science and Technology Week or NSTW 2022 on 23 – 27 November 2022 at The World Trade Center, Pasay City. 

ASTI will also organize webinars to present and further explain its featured technologies to audiences who are not able to attend the physical event, e-certificates will also be given to participants. 

Kooha: A Social Sensing Network Application will host its Photoserye Season 2, an interactive Smartphone Photography Workshop using the Kooha application, after its success in its first season in July and August 2022. The team organized the online workshop series aiming to strengthen the knowledge, understanding, and skills of photography enthusiasts: to make the most of their smartphone cameras through the Kooha app; to establish a community of Kooha users and testers; to generate interest in using the application; and, to gather feedback to further improve the application. The Kooha Photoserye Season 2 will take place on 24 November 2022, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, via Zoom and Facebook Live on the DOST-ASTI Facebook page.

The Project Resilient Education Information Infrastructure for the New Normal (REIINN) aims at providing means of communication to those living in geographically isolated areas (GIAs) of the country, but they are not the only target of this project.

Through its theme, Bridging the Digital Gap: Repurposing and maximizing TV signals to advance rural connectivity through Project REIINN,” the purpose of this webinar is to introduce the Project REIINN and its research initiatives. It will highlight the project's two (2) components: 1) LokaLTE – which develops and deploys low-cost, small-scale community cellular (LTE) networks to provide internet connectivity in remote areas; 2) RuralCasting – which develops and deploys technologies that utilize datacasting mechanisms to distribute educational resource materials in remote areas.
