The DOST-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) received recertification for its Quality Management System (QMS) based on the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

This is after a successful onsite audit conducted by TÜV SÜD PSB Philippines Inc. on 25-26 August 2022.

The external auditors from the certifying body, led by Ms. Michelle Geli, examined DOST- ASTI's QMS for providing information and communications technology (ICT) and electronics technology solutions through research and development, technology transfer, and science and technology services.

DOST-ASTI Director Franz A. de Leon said that this ISO recertification is a testimony of DOST-ASTI’s commitment to continuously improve its processes and ensure effective service delivery—bringing science and technology closer to the people.

"Our partners and stakeholders can rest assured that the institute will consistently deliver quality products and services as we stick to our quality policy of generating relevant, timely, and impactful ICT- and Electronics-based innovations," he added.

DOST-ASTI's Quality Management Representative and Knowledge Management Division Chief Paul John M. Serrano also recognized that the grant of the ISO certificate was the fruit of the collective efforts of the DOST-ASTI management and staff, working together for the proliferation of its technologies, as well as seamless operationalization of its mandate and functions.

"Reviewing and further refining our practices is key to realizing the agency's mission of contributing to the attainment of national development priorities and the growth of Philippine enterprises by providing innovative solutions focused on ICT and electronics technologies," he said.

This is the second recertification that DOST-ASTI has received since it transitioned to the ISO 9001:2015 standard in 2018. The certificate is valid until November 2025, subject to annual surveillance audits.
