DOST-ASTI features initiatives to MSU-IIT

The Department of Science and Technology - Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) highlighted its flagship services to Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) during their facility tour around the agency last Friday, August 5, 2022.

As a form of welcome, DOST-ASTI Director Franz A. de Leon presented MSU-IIT Chancellor Alizedney "Zed" M. Ditucalan with satellite models from PEDRO as tokens of appreciation for their visit.

Among the services presented to MSU-IIT Chancellor Ditucalan and faculty were space science and disaster mitigation technology assets Philippine Earth Data Resource and Observation (PEDRO) Center and Remote Data Science Help Desk (DATOS), AI- and IoT-assisted small scale plant-growing system Gul.AI, the ASTI Automated Labelling Machine (ALaM), the Robot for Optimized and Autonomous Mission-Enhancement Response (ROAMER) project, the Resilient Education Information Infrastructure for the New Normal (REIINN) project, NTC Fixed and Mobile Benchmarking System (NTC NetMesh), and information system and research data platforms Computing and Archiving Research Environment (COARE) and Philippine Research, Education, and Government Information Network (PREGINET).

MSU-IIT has been a partner of DOST-ASTI’s PREGINET since 2017 through the PCARI Research and Instructional Infrastructure for Mentoring and Collaboration (PRIME) Project, and after the set of presentations has expressed great interest in collaboration with other services to streamline their processes as well as gain access to activities related to space, data science, information and communications technology, and disaster risk reduction management.
