Philippine Rice Research Institute

The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) is a national rice research and development agency mandated to generate farming technologies to strengthen Philippine rice and rice-based agriculture. To respond to the need for a high-impact rice research, PhilRice utilizes the DOST-ASTI's COARE to implement its Philippine Rice Information System (PRISM) project. The PRISM project aims to provide reliable, location-specific, and timely information on rice area, planting dates, yield estimates, and damage assessment on typhoon-affected and drought-affected rice areas. This partnership between the DOST-ASTI and PhilRice will also enable collaboration in the areas of ICT and map processing, and other relevant areas of rice science.
