The DOST National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) has become an annual tradition where government agencies and partners come together to showcase local capabilities in science and technology (S&T). This year's event with the theme “Juan Science, One Nation” will be a week-long activity from 25 - 29 July 2016 showcasing various project initiatives on the fields of agriculture, health, and disaster preparedness.
The activities will be conducted simultaneously at the following science communities:
- Bicutan Science Community - DOST Complex, Bicutan, Taguig City
- Quezon City Science Community - PAGASA Main Lobby, Science Garden, Agham Road, Quezon City
- Metro Manila Science Community - Mall of Asia (MOA), Pasay City
- Los Banos Science Community - PCAARRD Complex, Los Banos, Laguna
- DOST Regional Offices
In participation to said week-long event of the DOST NSTW and as part of the Bicutan and Quezon City Science Communities, the Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) will also have a simultaneous Open House Exhibit at its office and will showcase various ASTI-developed weather stations currently being used for disaster mitigation such as the Advanced Remote Data-Acquisition Unit (arQ), Urban Flood Monitoring Station, Water Level Monitoring Station, to name a few. Said exhibit will be open to the pubic from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM from 25 to 29 July 2016. A “Technology Transfer Day” session (by invitation only) will also be conducted on 28 July 2016 and will feature the formal signing of the Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA) between DOST-ASTI and Ace Electronics Technology Inc. for the arQ, presentation of the licensing of the weather stations, and the various services and opportunities offered by the Electronics Product Development Center (EPDC) facility.
